Khartoum 30-1-2018 (SUNA)

The General Sudanese Students Union and Al Salam Bank (Sudan) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to finance student projects throughout all Sudan under the social responsibility of the Bank and the Union. Bank Al Salam has committed itself to financing all of the Union's projects without a specified ceiling as their first joint cooperation.

Mr. Al-Noor Ajabna, General Manager of Al Salam Bank, said during his signing ceremony that the Bank is committed to reducing the burden of living on students and supporting the school meal.

Dr. Ammar Alaa-eldin, President of the General Sudanese Students Union, said that the Union seeks to maintain its main role to enhance academic and economic stability and to provide students with the necessary needs in four axes: support of school meals, service centers, half-fees transportation and health insurance. He added that all this comes within the framework of social protection in addition to funding education fees, which are a major obstacle to students, pointing to their commitment to support the student sector in universities and higher education.
